About

In 1978 when I was born, disco pants were very “in..” -just kidding.

This is a cute picture from when the Life of Sarah begun September 13, 1978. img_0137.jpgErnie and I met in 1996. I have blogged our story Part I is here and Part II is here. Thats the long and short of our story. The Lord has been the biggest part, glue, happiness and joy in our lives since we really “got it”a few years ago. We have struggled, God knows we have struggled but every struggle I know He has put there to make us bear better fruit. I know that I know that.

Someone asked me the other day if I knew what my name meant? “Princess” I thought to myself. Well, this person told me that Sarai meant “Daughter of the King, Princess.” Made sense. But what I didnt know was when the Lord changed Sarai’s name to Sarah almost in some definitions looked like a meaningless change. But not to me. Sarah means the same thing, “Daughter of the King, Princess-” Except on thing is added… “-with children.” Never before haveimg_2764.jpg I been so thankful for my children and instantly brought back to my memory the moments when I thought there would never be a Bradley or a Rees. God’s plan is best. In our biggest moments of despair, 5 long years of waiting felt like an eternity. But since they have been in my life, never has a woman ever felt more fufilled as a human being as this Mom is! Not that I dont have days like Im not going insane or anything, those come when you have kids too-noimg_1169.jpg matter how thankful you are!!

We are learning on this journey. The other day in the car Bradley, our oldest son asked me,”Mom are we just passin’ through?” (He meant driving through to eat.) I said, “Yes, son, we are definitely just passin’ through!” We are pilgrims in this land and want to learn all we can about the Lord and His ways, share all we can about what we know and what we have.

This is my story… This is my favorite hymn.. and this is my song…

Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine!
Oh, what a foretaste of glory divine!
Heir of salvation, purchase of God,
Born of His Spirit, washed in His blood.

Refrain:
This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Savior all the day long;
This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Savior all the day long.

Perfect submission, perfect delight,
Visions of rapture now burst on my sight;
Angels, descending, bring from above
Echoes of mercy, whispers of love.

Perfect submission, all is at rest,
I in my Savior am happy and blest,
Watching and waiting, looking above,
Filled with His goodness, lost in His love.

    Sarah,

    I have so enjoyed looking over your site. My husband spoke with Ernie today. We own a computer sales/service business in NH, and he had called Dell for something. I guess they had an interesting conversation and Ernie gave him the link to your blog. I just wanted you to know that I was blessed… blessed that my husband was encouraged by an encounter with another brother through work, and blessed to read about your life and family. Love your quote about brokenness… drop me a line sometime. 🙂 Blessings to you and yours. Thanks for being a walking testimony. 🙂

    Sarah Jane,

    Is it really you?

  3. Reading your blog, particularly about pioneers makes me think you are a homeschooler, or at least great material for being one! I am the mother of four grown children and 13 grandchildren. My youngest son was also born September of 1978. He and his wife already have 5 little boys age 7 and under. (One is adopted.) Their pictures are all at my main blog THE GOD WHO SEES ME at http://devotionalprayerjournal.blogspot.com/
    I also have a homeschoolblogger site AND NOW THEY’RE GROWN at http://www.homeschoolblogger.com/Nana13/
    I will mark this site to return – love it!
