Abundance

I named the blog this because thats the word I feel when I think of our anniversary weekend. Abundance. Jesus said in John 10 that He came that they (we) would have life and have it more abundantly. The whole time, I just kept thinking, ‘thank you, Lord for this abundant life.’ Because of Jesus, I can be a decent wife. He came to let me know how right my life could be. And I know He has even more in store.

So we dropped the kids off Saturday night and were like, where should we go for dinner? I wanted to go to Pei Wei in Green Hills and then to Whole Foods but we didnt want to drive to Green Hills. Actually we didnt feel like going into Nashville at all. So I thought lets go to Chefs Market. It turned out to be the best idea ever. When we got there it was the Kings Table night. Friday and Saturday they have an all you can eat buffet. Everything is open to you to eat, even their desserts, coffee and ice cream. (We cant WAIT to go back, even though Im up 2 lbs from Friday. ugh)

I saw on the wall this scripture as we sat down.

This is what you get when you take your own pictures on a phone.

1Co 10:31 Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.

I laughed because if you could see our table- we were definitely giving it our very best. It was such a mellow atmosphere and the food was some of the best I ever had. There were moments in my mind I wished I could freeze. It was such a sweet dinner with my husband. I dont even have words in my vocabulary to describe how wonderful it was. When we went to go get coffee they had Blueberry Cobbler. If you know me and Ernie you know this is our coffee. I almost cried when Ernie told me what kind of coffee they had. Seems silly to write out but it is just like the Lord to make it more perfect. All the gourmet coffees they had and they brewed this one on this night. I kept taking pics lol, I guess I forgot to wear my ‘Im blogging this’ t-shirt.

Then we went to the Streets in Hendersonville to walk around a bit. Ernie got his picture taken with the Star Wars group. I guess there is a new movie coming out this week and they were promoting it. Wouldn’t you know, on the one night we don’t have our kids! We actually considered going home and getting them so they could see them. Anyways, we got to shop a little. I got to look in Chico’s without having to give the, ‘hands in pockets, no being loud’ talk.

Its not a night with no kids without being in a bookstore!

It's not a night without kids if you don't hit up a bookstore!

On Sunday we went to The River of Life church before our own service. I saw a lot of people that I have seen around town there. It was weird because I had dreams all night the night before. In one, we were in Bro Dave’s church all holding hands in a circle praying. And this is how they start service at The River of Life. They dimmed the lights during worship and prayer, the spirit at times was strong. Brad later told us in the car that he felt the Holy Ghost during the songs. The pastor there talked about having Faith to move mountains. It was really a practical message that any person could apply to their life. It was so good to worship with the people there. They are really genuine, loving, good people. Striving and seeking God. He hears them and meets with them so beautifully. Yesterday was my Holy Ghost birthday too-11 years. So that was cause to be even more thankful.

I was reminded of a missionary my mom sent me her blog a few weeks ago. She had just returned from Africa and was talking about how changed she was. That she had went there to show love, to attempt to spread the gospel and she was the one who ended up being changed. Sometimes when we visit other places, I feel this way. So often others end up teaching me more about the gospel and about love than I could ever teach them. I have so much to learn and want to learn. It definitely fans my fire..

They have this ‘Masters Table’ food project where they help the community with food and prayer. Whoever needs it, no one is turned down. They showed us around on the church property where they work from. Its so organized! Also thought it was interesting that most grocery stores donate and help them in town with day old stuff and overflow canned goods, etc. Even Publix in Hendersonville helps them with food.. But Kroger will not. They say they can’t… Good to know.

So we were a bit late to our own service, but when we got there, we got to hear the last parts of Bro Fudge talking on Hebrews. Afterwards, we got to thank him personally for coming this weekend and giving his time to us. As we did, his eyes welled with tears. What a sweet man. Hope our paths cross again sometime soon. Until then we wait for his Hebrews commentary to come out!

I have some Monday Morning-sunday torpedo cleanup to do around here. Have a good one!
